Mourne Mountains Brewery First Ever Taproom

Writer: Gareth McGivernGareth McGivern

The Mourne Mountains brewery team had an awesome day on Saturday 22nd February, hosting the first ever tap room at the brewery in Warrenpoint. A great day for the team and the local community.

We had many visitors from the local Mourne area and beyond throughout the day. Taking advantage of the vibrant atmosphere along with enjoying some locally brewed small batch beer.

Here at Mourne Mountains Brewery we set out to bring real choice and good, honest local beer to Northern Ireland. We had a range of Mourne Mountains Brewery beers available on Draught and Cask along with having a fridge full of bottles and cans.

We had:

5 beers on Tap (Blond, Mourne Mist, Baník Pilsner, OTT and The Wall)

3 Cask Conditioned Beers (Solas, GLAFY and Best)

Bottles and Cans (Stook, Clan Rye, Bear Grease, 2018 Vintage and Hoops and Staves)

As the event took place at our brewery in Warrenpoint, this gave visitors the chance to see inside the brewery where all the beer is brewed and packaged, along with getting to meet and speak to brewers Tom and Gareth. There was a great atmosphere throughout the day and it was great to see so many people enjoy the experience and the beer.

And we even had a live gig in the brewery. How cool is that? Local band, 'On the Rocks' performed live in the evening of the event. Check them out.

Also, from a tourism aspect, hosting taproom events like this play a positive role in boosting local tourism along with the craft beer industry.

By the end of the day there was a lot of happy faces and a lot of empty glasses.

Thanks to locals such as, Mayobridge GAC and 26 Extreme for their support in providing chairs and tables.

Also, thanks to On The Rocks for performing live at the event & everyone else who helped make it such a success.

Last but not least, thanks to our awesome customers for attending and continuing to support Mourne Mountains Brewery. Without this incredible support, events like this would not be possible.

We hope to host another taproom in the near future, make sure to keep an eye on the Mourne Mountains Brewery website and social channels.
